We are proud to be able to offer a wide range of saddle fitting services designed to help achieve a comfortable, balanced fit for both horse and rider. Every saddle fitting includes includes a thorough evaluation of your horse's body and back, taking into consideration factors such as confirmation, musculature, nutrition, workload and overall physical development. These factors can change over time and may significantly influence how a saddle fits and performs. We recommend having your saddle fit evaluated at least once a year, and more frequently for young or developing horses, horse in full work, horses returning to work, or those that are particularly sensitive to changes in saddle fit.
Saddle Fitting
We will do a static fitting of your saddle on your horse and then adjust the saddle. You are encouraged to ride post adjustment for a dynamic fit evaluation.
Note: If I don't think the saddle can be adjusted to fit the horse and/or rider, I will do a saddle evaluation and recommendation instead.
Initial Saddle Fitting & Flock adjustment $200 and up (depending on materials and difficulty of job) plus stable call fee.
Follow up Adjustments for same horse/saddle are $165 and up (depending on materials and difficulty of job) plus stable call fee.
Saddle Evaluation & Recommendations
We evaluate your horse and current saddle (if you have one) to determine if it is the best fit or can be adjusted to meet your needs. If you don't have a saddle, or your current one won't fit, we make up to five recommendations as to what your horse requires in a saddle. If needed, we will do full-back tracings for a fully custom order saddle if you know what brand you are interested in. Once you receive your saddle, I will review photos of the new/trial saddle to confirm suitability.
$125 plus stable call fee.
$25 for each group of up to 5 links to saddles that you found and would like me to review.
Biomechanic Saddle Fiit
Biomechanic Saddle Fit Sessions-
Static Saddle Fitting followed by a 30 minute mounted session focussing on Equine balance, motion, and the influence of the rider in the saddle and on the horse.
